GovMark Council's second annual offsite program, "The YouTube Generation: How to Target Tomorrow's IT Buyer," will look at what's next for government marketing.

With an eye toward the future, the program will provide insights into:
- YouTube Generation: How do government marketers effectively target the next generation of IT buyers -- both today as end users, purchase influencers, and potential employees; and tomorrow as decision makers?
- Web 2.0: What is it and how can next generation online platforms -- including the increasingly-popular social networks - enhance traditional marketing programs?
- Cracking the GWACs: How do government buyers rate the available IT&T product and service contracts? Does DoD prefer certain vehicles? This session will present which GWAC contracting shops and vehicles deliver the greatest value to government buyers
Other sessions in the program include a panel on healthcare IT, as well as seminars on crisis communications management and marketing to the intelligence community. Click here to learn more.

Teresa Rivera
Branding and Awareness Manager
U.S. Department of the Interior, GovWorks Federal Acquisition Center
With over 30 years' experience in management, training, sales, and marketing, Teresa Rivera's career has included corporate, non-profit, and government organizations. After serving on active duty around the globe in the U.S. Army, Teresa continued her career at Procter & Gamble, where she fine tuned her brand management skills. Teresa returned to government with the U.S. Postal Service and held various management positions around the country, including assignments to USPS Headquarters at L'Enfant Plaza in Washington, D.C. There she led national marketing programs for over 35,000 locations and worked in partnership with major corporations and government agencies, including Hallmark, AT&T, Disney, IBM, the Department of Defense, and the U.S. Mint. She received numerous awards during her years with the U.S. Postal Service, including the Vice President's Award for her contributions to the organization.
In 2005, Teresa joined GovWorks, the Department of the Interior's Federal Acquisition Center, in order to heighten awareness of the organization within the Federal market and strengthen their brand strategy. She has developed successful strategic communications, implemented new marketing initiatives, and redesigned their brand identity.
Q&A With Teresa:
What do you feel are the biggest challenges facing government IT&T marketers today?
In my opinion, the biggest challenge facing ALL marketers today is how to stand out from the crowd when there are so many messages competing for attention.
What is your favorite government IT&T tradeshow/conference?
My favorite IT&T conference is IPIC, because it has excellent speakers, great networking opportunities, and provides a forum to develop client relationships.
Can you name one person from history you would want to meet, and why?
President John F. Kennedy because he was such a dynamic, interesting leader. I remember his death and what a huge turning point that was for our country.
What is the last book you read?
"Wikinomics: How Mass Collaboration Changes Everything" by Don Tapscott and Anthony Williams.
Where would you like to travel next?
I love to travel and have lived and worked all over the world, but have never been on a cruise -- so I'm very excited that my family and I will be spending the holidays this year cruising the Caribbean.
