Nigel Ballard

Nigel is Intel’s Federal Marketing Manager. Originally from the United Kingdom, he now lives in Portland Oregon with his family.

He was named one of America’s top 100 technology leaders in 2006 by Federal Computer Weekly for his wireless expertise during the Katrina disaster.

Prior to joining Intel, Nigel spent the last twenty years in the wireless arena, consulting with Fortune 100 companies on Telecommunication investments and consumer product development and marketing. He authored the wireless framework for Portland’s citywide network cloud RFP.

Before moving to the USA in 2000 he managed Bluetooth for Cap Gemini based in Grenoble France.

Interviewed by The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and Newsweek, Nigel is sought for his views on municipal wireless and the impact that WiMAX and mobility in general will have on the global telecommunications landscape.
