Patrick Burns

Patrick Burns is Senior Director of Enterprise Marketing for Symantec Corporation. Based in Herndon, Virginia, he focuses on Symantec's public sector businesses including Federal, State, Local, and education segments.

His more than 20-year career in corporate communications and marketing includes experience in public relations, advertising, and news reporting. Prior to joining Symantec Corporation, he served as Senior Communications Manager for VeriSign, Inc. where he led VeriSign's public sector marketing communications and helped expand the company's marketing footprint in RFID technology and global Internet operations in Europe and Asia.

Before joining VeriSign, he was Director of Communications for The NASDAQ Stock Market, where he helped market and promote the expanding NASDAQ market trading system during its explosive growth of the 1990s. Prior to NASDAQ, he worked as a reporter and bureau chief for Futures World News in their London and New York offices covering futures and commodities trading and conducted more than 1,000 interviews with finance executives from around the world.

Patrick holds a B.S. in Journalism degree from West Virginia University; an M.A. degree in English from George Mason University and a Master of International Journalism degree from Baylor University. He lives in Vienna, Virginia with his wife Carla and their two children.
