As director of the HP Public Sector Marketing Organization, Cathy Martin is responsible for the development and implementation of the company’s business strategy and marketing initiatives that harness the power of HP to deliver solutions to the education, Federal, State and Local government sectors.

Martin has been involved with HP’s expansion of public sector programs for the past 6 years, resulting in substantial growth in the organization’s revenue and increased solution-focused services to HP customers.

Martin began her career at HP more than 17 years ago as an account executive in the company’s Analytical Division. She marketed high-tech analysis instrumentation to commercial customers and government agencies including the Food and Drug Administration and the National Institutes of Health. She also led a team assisting the Department of the Navy in its deployment of HP analysis solutions supporting Operation Desert Storm. Later, Martin transitioned into the company’s commercial computer and printer product group, where she managed international sales and marketing strategies with customers such as America Online, Marriott International and GE Information Systems.

Martin is an active member of the National Association of State Chief Information Officers (NASCIO). Martin is also a member of HP’s Philanthropy Grant Review Board. She resides with her husband in Maryland.

Martin holds a B.S. degree in chemistry from Trinity College.
