Vice President, Communications & Marketing, General Dynamics Information Technology
Mark Meudt is responsible for communications, marketing, and public relations activities at General Dynamics Information Technology. As part of General Dynamics Information Technology’s executive management team, Mr. Meudt leads the company’s marketing campaigns and branding programs, in addition to executive and employee communications, community relations programs and serves as the corporate liaison for government affairs.
Mr. Meudt has more than 20 years experience as an accomplished communications and marketing executive in US federal, state and local government, commercial and international information technology and telecommunications/networking marketplaces.
Before joining General Dynamics, Mr. Meudt served as Northrop Grumman’s executive director of communications, for the IT sector, developing and implementing marketing and branding campaigns, public relations programs and internal communications activities to launch the Northrop Grumman IT sector brand and ensure the smooth transition of numerous mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Meudt provided communications counsel in areas of marketing and media strategy to the executive leadership team.
Mr. Meudt also served as communications director for Lockheed Martin’s IT sector, responsible for developing and integrating the media/analyst relations and executive, employee and marketing communications programs for the former IBM/Loral Federal IT business units. Additionally, Mr. Meudt served on the Lockheed Martin merger communications team.
Previously, Mr. Meudt served as director of marketing and business development for Alcatel’s US Government Telecommunications Solutions group and for PRC, Inc. (Planning Research Corporation). He began his career at The Adams Group Inc., a leading national public relations and advertising agency, where Mr. Meudt became vice president of technology marketing, receiving acclaim for numerous award-winning advertising and marketing campaigns. He has served on a number of boards of directors, including the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce and AFCEA (Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association).
Mr. Meudt, an award-winning journalist and PR practitioner, earned his master’s degree in public communications from the American University in Washington, DC, and his bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Maryland. He is a graduate of The University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business executive development program in financial management. Mr. Meudt is an NCAA All-American and Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Champion in the sport of fencing.
