Branding & Awareness Manager
US Department of the Interior, GovWorks Federal Acquisition Center
With over 30 years experience in management, training, sales, and marketing, Teresa Rivera’s career has included corporate, non-profit, and government organizations. After serving on active duty around the globe in the US Army, Teresa continued her career at Procter & Gamble, where she fine-tuned her brand management skills. Teresa returned to government with the US Postal Service and held various management positions around the country, including assignments to USPS Headquarters at L’Enfant Plaza in Washington, DC. There she led national marketing programs for over 35,000 locations and worked in partnership with major corporations and government agencies, including Hallmark, AT&T, Disney, IBM, the Department of Defense, and the US Mint. She received numerous awards during her years with the US Postal Service, including the Vice President’s Award for her contributions to the organization.
In 2005, Teresa joined GovWorks, the Department of the Interior’s Federal Acquisition Center, in order to heighten awareness of the organization within the federal market and strengthen their brand strategy. She has developed successful strategic communications, implemented new marketing initiatives, and redesigned their brand identity. Teresa holds a degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing from Davenport University and a Master’s Certificate in Project Management from George Washington University. Teresa frequently makes presentations to both industry and government groups on marketing and branding related topics, and was honored in 2007 as one of the 25 Most Powerful Minority Women In Business by the Minority Enterprise Executive Council in Washington, DC.
