Barbara Given, Ph.D., is Co-Director of the Adolescent and Adult Learning Research Center at the Krasnow Institute for Advanced Study. After completing her doctorate at The Catholic University of America, Dr. Given initiated the Special Education teacher Preparation Program at George Mason University in the Fall of 1974. She served as its coordinator for several years, directed the Education Study Center, and developed Operation Breakthrough, a summer program for children and adults with learning difficulties. She currently co-directs the Adolescent and Adult Learning Research Center at The Krasnow Institute for Advanced Studies with James Olds. Given is also Director of the Center for Honoring Individual Learning Diversity (CHILD), an affiliate of the International Learning Styles Network. Given’s research focus is reading deficits in adolescents and adults. Dr. Given lives in Old Town, Virginia where she enjoys bicycling and walking.

He has conceived and executed marketing campaigns in traditional media such as TV, radio, and print, as well as non-traditional media such as Web, Web-based viral, and guerilla marketing. An award-winning creative mind, Campbell boasts numerous awards for his work including: national, regional, and local ADDY awards; New York Festivals; and Creativity. Campbell holds a Bachelor of Science in Advertising from the University of Maryland and is a member of the Advertising Club of Metropolitan Washington.
